Sunday worship
-
8 a.m.
This Eucharistic worship service follows Rite II from the Book of Common Prayer. Since there is no music, it’s the shorter of our two Sunday-morning worship services, lasting about 45 minutes.
-
10:15 a.m.
This is the larger of the two Sunday-morning services. We gather to the sound of the organ as the choir, acolytes and other worship ministers process through the congregation. The liturgy is complemented by hymns, anthems and service music among prayers and periods of silence before culminating with Communion. Children are invited to Children’s Church for the first half of the service. This service usually lasts around one hour and 15 minutes.

Weekly worship services
Our principal worship services are on Sundays at 8 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. There is also a small Eucharistic service on Wednesdays at noon. On Thursday mornings, Bishop Ted Gulick leads a Eucharistic service followed by breakfast and discussion. Guided by the Book of Common Prayer, our worship is Eucharistic, liturgical, corporate and sacramental.
Families with children are especially welcome at Saint James’. We have a vibrant family ministry to make children and young people feel a full part of our congregation. Children from age 4 to fifth grade are invited to Children’s Church during the first half of each Sunday’s 10:15 service, and nursery is available each Sunday morning. Our High School Youth Group meets most Sunday evenings during the school year, and the Middle School Youth Group meets every other week. There are also many opportunities for children and youth to serve during worship and in the community.
