A full weekend at Saint James’

Now that Labor Day is behind us, you’ll notice a burst of energy at church as many groups and programs resume after a summer break. This is an especially good time of year to get plugged in to study, socialize or volunteer with your fellow parishioners.

Here’s what’s happening this weekend.

Saturday, Sept. 12

Men’s Bible Study at 7 a.m. — This weekly study group meets in the Reception Room. We’re starting the program year by reading the book of Ruth. There is no registration or previous participation is required to join.

Firewood Initiative Split-and-Stack at 8 a.m. — The time commitment is about two hours, and all adults and teenagers are welcome to volunteer for this Fauquier Community Coalition effort. Learn more here.

Sunday, Sept. 13

Holy Eucharist at 8 a.m. — We will celebrate an instructed Eucharist at this service. Before each movement of our worship service, Father Ben will explain the intent. This is intended to deepen your knowledge, appreciation and full participation in our weekly worship.

Café from 8:45 to 10 a.m. — This weekly buffet breakfast in the Parish Hall is prepared by a dedicated team of volunteers. It’s $5 per person and a maximum $20 per family.

Episcopal 101 at 9:15 a.m. — This weekly adult formation series in the Reception Room is aimed at those interested in being confirmed or received in The Episcopal Church this November, but it’s open to everyone. Learn more here.

Holy Eucharist & Children’s Church at 10:15 a.m. — Like at the early service, we’ll celebrate an instructed Eucharist. You’ll also notice richer musical offerings during the service. Children are invited to Children’s Church during the first half of the service.

High School Youth Group at 6:30 p.m. — This weekly group is open to all high schoolers, even if they don’t attend Saint James’. Learn more here.
