From Jen Taylor: Youth groups, confirmation and Children’s Church this fall

BY JEN TAYLORWe’re excited to begin a new program year of youth ministry at Saint James’! We look forward to creating spaces where children and youth can grow in faith, build meaningful friendships, ask questions, serve others, and navigate the joys and challenges of growing up.
High School Youth Group kicks off Sunday, Sept. 13, and Middle School Youth Group begins Sunday, Sept. 27. We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone back, seeing new faces, and starting the year with plenty of fun and opportunities to grow together.
Confirmation classes for students in eighth grade through high school begin Sunday, Oct. 4. Confirmation is an opportunity for young people to explore their faith, learn more about The Episcopal Church, and consider what it means to make their faith their own. We are especially excited to welcome Bishop Harris to Saint James’ on Sunday, Nov. 22 for confirmation.
Although Children’s Church continued over the summer months, beginning Sunday, Sept. 13 we will transition to a more structured lesson and discussion connected to the Gospel reading for that Sunday. And even when your children can’t make it to Children’s Church, you can stay connected through Table Talk, our weekly summary of the children’s lesson. From our youngest children through our high school students, we are grateful for the opportunity to walk alongside our young people as they learn, wonder, question, serve, and grow in their faith. We can’t wait to see what this new year brings!
