Softball update: A tough loss, a new opponent

Hello players!

The rain held off for our opening doubleheader on July 6 against Oak View National Bank. The first game was a close 17-16 score and the second game ended 18-8 with Saint James’ on the losing end of both. We had several home runs, some great defensive plays, and excellent pitching to build on for the rest of the season. Thank you to everyone who came out for the games and the after party at Glory Days!

Our July 6 exploits traveled quickly, and a new “electrifying” competitor has emerged to challenge our fledgling squad! We have added VARCO Electric as a new set of games on Monday, July 20 (new schedule below). We are off next week (July 13) due to park closure, so rest up in the off week and plan to join our next games on the 20th.

Start time for the first game on July 20 is 6 p.m.; please arrive by 5:45 p.m. for warm ups and to get in the line up. If you cannot make the first game, please be at the field by 6:45 p.m. for the second game. (We always need fresh players for the second game, so don't worry if you are running late — we'll find a place for you!)

Even if you missed our practices or games, you are still part of the team! Ladies, we need YOU on the field especially — this is a co-ed team and we need a few more women than we have had at practice.

Please bring your friends and family for an entertaining evening of fantastic hits and acrobatic catches. Plan to join us at Glory Days in Warrenton after the games.
