Fauquier ESL is seeking volunteer instructors

The Fauquier English as a Second Language program at Warrenton Baptist Church is seeking volunteer teachers, assistant teachers and support personnel for its next semester, from late January through mid-May. Volunteers do not need to speak another language, and training is provided. Classes will be held Mondays and Thursdays from 7 to 9 p.m., and volunteer leaders can pick either Monday or Thursday to help. There are substitutes available for days you can’t attend.

The program is volunteer-led and has helped local adults learn English for five years. There are currently about 40 volunteer instructors — including three Saint James’ parishioners — and the program has a capacity of 120 students over its five levels of instruction. These classes can be life-changing for our immigrant friends.
