Christmas 2025 at Saint James’

There are several opportunities to celebrate Christmas at Saint James’ Warrenton in 2025.

Lessons & Carols on Sunday, Dec. 21 at 5 p.m. is a century-old Anglican tradition that brings the Christmas story to life through scripture and song.

The Christmas Eve Pageant with Eucharist at 3 p.m. on Dec. 24 is especially geared to young families. All children are welcome to participate in the reenactment of the birth of Jesus, and there is no prior rehearsal they need to attend.

The Christmas Eve Service with Eucharist at 5 p.m. on Dec. 24 features a full liturgy for Christmas Eve, with scripture readings and familiar Christmas carols.

The Christmas Eve Choral Eucharist at 10 p.m. on Dec. 24 is the liturgical high point of our Christmas Eve celebrations, featuring a festive liturgy and the full choir singing cherished carols with soaring descants and intimate choral anthems as we bask in the candlelit beauty of the space.

The Christmas Day Eucharist at 9 a.m. on Dec. 25 is a less formal, more intimate celebration of Christ’s birth on Christmas morning.

Children are welcome at all of our services, and they are an important part of life here at Saint James’. There are bags of crayons and children’s bulletins in the back of the church and outside the Side Chapel. And while there will be no Children’s Church or nursery offered during our special Christmas services, the Reception Room will be open for children who need a little break or need to stretch their legs.
