Service Project of the Month: FISH Snow Packs

We’re collecting “snow packs” for Fauquier FISH, which works with Fauquier County Public Schools to distribute the packs to help ensure at-risk children have access to nutritious food on weekends, school holidays and snow days.

Each “snow pack” includes a gallon-sized Ziploc bag with three non-perishable meals — breakfast, lunch and dinner — and two snacks.

  • For breakfast, an oatmeal packet or a small box of cereal is recommended.

  • For lunch and dinner, a box of mac and cheese, a package or ramen noodles or a small can of ravioli works well.

  • Fruit cups, applesauce, crackers, granola bars and microwave popcorn work well for snacks.

Please choose items without nuts.

You can leave completed packs on the Parish Hall stage through Jan. 31.
