The season of Lent began this week. We remember the forty days that Jesus spent in the wilderness without food, where He steadfastly withstood three temptations from Satan, and angels came to care for Him.

Traditional Lenten practices have focused on denial, such as abstaining from chocolate or alcohol. Alternatively, one could give God attention to the well being of His creation.

Virginia Interfaith Power & Light has developed a calendar of actions, ideas and prayers. It can be found here (https://vaipl.org/creation-calendars/).

The Creation Care Leadership Circle of the Diocese of Western Massachusetts compiled quotes and images for inspiration and contemplation.  Go here to ask for an email every day during Lent (https://www.episcopalchurch.org/ecojustice/creation-care-resources-for-lent/).
